Musicians of the Prague Castle Orchestra are a part of Prague Castle as inherently as Matthias Gate. Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, they have played regularly for the pleasure of all visitors of Prague Castle, only a few steps from the gate (and also within sight of the Archbishop's Palace).
At the express wish of Václav Havel, they also played for his guests. Charles, Prince of Wales, has visited them and bowed to them. They also played in a large variety of festivals in Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Brazil and Mexico.
They play traditional Czech and Moravian folk songs, swing, but also popular Czech and international hits. Members consist of: Josef Kocůrek (flute), Jiří Vopava (violin), Radek Anděl (accordion), Jaroslav Kovář (double bass).

The Prague Castle Orchestra plays on Hradčanské Square about half the days each week. If you are going to Prague, you can look forward to seeing them there.
And until then, you can at least listen to them.
